The CENTER FOR STUDIES and Research in Social Development and Assistance (CEIDAS) is a non governmental organization devoted to social development research and the promotion of the fulfillment of vulnerable groups´ human rights that seeks to influence in social development policy making.
CEIDAS promotes the creation of new capacities to build a new citizenship able to demand and exert in full the guarantee of their human, social, cultural, economic and environmental rights. By doing so, CEIDAS contributes to consolidation of democracy and the global defense for acceptance, peace, and the protection of the most vulnerable groups.
CEIDAS promotes the strengthening of capacities for actors in the private sector in Mexico in order to influence community development through corporate social responsibility projects in the areas of human rights and social development.
CEIDAS also intends to position the new social risks agenda of the XXI century, promoting the fulfillment of human rights. CEIDAS´ work focuses on providing the population with information and tools to both prevent and deal with social risks such as: gender violence and against children, discrimination, trafficking in persons, evitable deaths, and addictions, among others.
CEIDAS seeks to influence in the improvement of national legal frameworks surrounding social affairs in Mexico contributing to the strengthening of capacities of law enforcement authorities, so that legal frameworks respond to the complexity and social diversity of our country.
CEIDAS is formed by an interdisciplinary group of experts with extended directive, operative, and academic experience.

Alliances
CEIDAS has established alliances with the Mexican Senate, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Technological Institute of Monterrey, international organizations, foreign government agencies, media, and national and international NGO´s, in order to promote the social risks agenda.
In 2008 CEIDAS signed cooperation agreements with the National Commission for Human Rights, The Daywalka Foundation and The African Tourism and Development Organization in order to join efforts to combat human trafficking. |
